Inspired by the remarkable community of artists who gathered in Laurel Canyon during one of the most influential periods in American music, Laurel Canyon Dreamin’ was created to do more than simply play the songs. The band strives to capture the harmonies, musicianship, energy, and creative spirit that made this era so unforgettable — while sharing the fascinating story behind the music with audiences today. Formed in 2025, Laurel Canyon Dreamin’ is a celebration of an extraordinary time, brought to life by four accomplished musicians who believe these songs and their stories deserve to be heard again.
Laurel Canyon Dreamin’ brings together five Southern California musicians with a shared passion for the music, spirit, and story of the legendary Laurel Canyon era. Collectively, the band members have decades of experience performing, recording, and working alongside some of the most respected names in music. Their impressive musical histories include performances and recordings with artists such as Jackson Browne, The Righteous Brothers, Jose Feliciano, Chuck Berry, James Ingram, Michael McDonald, David Pack of Ambrosia, Patti Austin, Richard Marx, and many others.
Each member brings a unique musical perspective to the band. From Hilary Seleb’s
soulful vocals and extensive experience singing alongside acclaimed artists, to Gordon Rustvold’s versatility as a bassist, musician, educator, producer, and recording engineer; from Frank’s extensive career performing and recording with legendary artists and contributing to numerous IMAX soundtracks, to Cooper’s lifelong journey as a multi-instrumentalist, touring musician, songwriter, producer, and bandleader, Laurel Canyon Dreamin’ is rooted in a genuine love and understanding of the music they perform.
